McIntosh is a big name in Warren Co, IA and is one of my husband's lines. Iowa opened the land about 1848, and as land was becoming scarce and not easy to obtain in the eastern states, a great many went west. Due to troubles while traveling, it was much safer to go in groups and families were close so would travel together to relocate. Mary Ann McIntosh b 1832 d 1870 m Andrew Roach b 1832 d 1924.
