My GG grandparents Marion Francis Baldwin and Anna Jane Mote lived in Palmyra, Iowa at the time of their deaths in 1925 and 1927. Marion was born in Palmyra, Anna in Union County Ohio, then from Darke County Ohio. Anna was the daughter of Joseph Mote and Alzina Harriman. I am searching for information to varify stories that Joseph was blind. I would like to know the details, such as was he blind from birth, was there an accident, or possibly a medical problem. Elijah Baldwin and Parmelia Anderson were the parents of Marion. Elijah was from somewhere in Ohio and Parmelia was from somewhere in North Carolina before they moving to Iowa. They were married in Mahaska, Iowa in 1848 and Marion was born in 1849. I know nothing about Parmelia's family. Thanks to a terrific person in Iowa I am getting much information on these people. Now I am hoping to find someone with direct lines to them. Other family names from Warren County are; Chambers, Hurlbut, Beck, White and others. I don't know how long the White's lived in Warren County, my Mother was born in Indianola. Her parents were Foster E. White and Vera Engelhardt, his parents were Edward White and Leafie Bachtell. I have all my Engelhardt information but would be thrilled to talk to family members. These are the names I am working on at the time.
