Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11282 Surname: Myers, Fogle, Fogel, Stemen, Mouser, Mauser ------------------------- Is anyone researching Samuel Myers of Lacona, Warren County, Iowa - born 20 Sept 1805 in Virginia, married Permilia Mouser on 24 April 1828. According to his death notice in a local paper, he layed out and named the town of Lacona around 1852. He died on 16 June 1893. His grave is marked with a G.A.R marker, which I presume is the Grand Army of the Republic. I know his son, Isaac, served during the Civil War - but does anyone know what unit Samuel served with? I would be interested in exchanging info with anyone related, as well. Thanks!

Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11264 Surname: Marsh ------------------------- Hi I am not of your line but have lived in Warren County all my life. The state and county records only go back to 1880 so there would be no death records for Jesse. Although I did do alittle looking and found a list of Jesse's children and Abraham was not among them. There are still some Marshes in Carlisle. Jesse's great great granddaughter still lives here in town. I do not know what kind of information you need but if you will e'mail me I will be happy to help. Connie Cony53@aol.com

Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/1302 Surname: Smith, Shutt, Clanton ------------------------- We are searching for my husband's gg grandfather, Newland Smith. We know he married Elizabeth Shutt in Warren County in 1854. According to the records we have been able to find they lived in the area until about 1882-83 when they moved to Kansas. They had at least 10 children. Moses, Rosie, Rachel, James, Wesley, etc. We believe that he was related somehow to Lorana (Smith) Clanton. One of her sons married Elizabeth's sister and both families lived next to Lorana and her husband Isacc. Who was a brother of Joel Clanton. There are surely relatives in that area that remember them. We know that Newland (Newlind) served in the Civil War for Iowa and had eye problems from this. If any one has even the slightest information regarding this family please contact me. Thank you.

I just saw this post today (Feb. 18. 2001). I am researching the WILLIS family of Warren Co. also. I am researching the Thomas Willis line, but I believe that many of the WILLIS families are related because they have been in many of the same places at the same time. Also, my mother told me that her grandfather (James Scott WILLIS) had told her once that there were family members buried in that WILLIS family cemetery in Warren Co. I you think that any of the info I have will help you, e-mail me.
