    3. Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11322 Surname: HUFF ------------------------- I am looking for any and all information regarding HUFF families in Warren Co. Iowa. My grandmother, Emma Abigail Huff, was b. in Carlisle, Iowa on Sept. 29, 1901, and also lived in Indianola. She had full brothers Charlie (Charley) and Walter. She also had half-siblings. Her parents were James D. Huff and Emma Temperance Coles. They moved from Carlisle, Iowa to Minnesota, then settled in later years in Edgemont, S.D. I believe the Huff ancestry is as follows: James D. Huff, son of Martin V. Huff and Abigail Jane Denning, Martin V. Huff, b. 1837 Ohio, son of (Jacob?)Huff and Margaret (Doumit?) Huff Galbraith. When Martin was five, his mother married Charles Galbraith in Tuscawaras Co. Ohio. Martin also had at least an older sister named Mahala Huff, and a younger sister Mary Huff, as well as half-brother Alvin Galbraith, all of whom grew up in the Galbraith household in Perry Twsp. Tuscawaras Co. Ohio. I am looking for any historical or family accounts. I suspect Martin's grandparents were Nancy Dodridge Huff and Jacob Huff, but am not sure yet.

    3. Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11321 Surname: SHUPE ------------------------- I am interested in all Shupe family information from Warren Co., and also the town of Liberty Center. My great great grandmother, Hannah Shupe, b. between 1834 and 1836, married Levi Coles in Liberty Center on Oct. 9, 1857. I'm still trying to find the right Hannah Shupe. I would like to find her parents and siblings. I understand that most, if not all Shupes from Liberty Center at that time were related to or descended from early pioneer Jacob J. Shupe, who was related or descended from the Conrad family of Fairfield Co. Ohio. I had thought she was the daughter of Daniel J. Shupe and Lydia Dysinger. However, there is some indication that this Hannah Shupe married David Stout back in Fairfield Co. Ohio. However, she could have remarried, I'm not sure. I'm looking for any and all Schupp, Shoop, Shupe from Warren Co. in order to compile information. Please reply within forum. Thanks.

Earl Noland kindly sent me a family group sheet typed years ago. It indicates Joseph N. Coleses parents are William Coles and Lydia Lavina Wise. It doesn't list the parents for Ida May Gillis. I am awaiting word as to which William Coles this is, but I see they are from Liberty Center and are almost certainly related. I have some compiled genealogy from others going back to 1600s. 3. Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11311 Surname: Taylor ------------------------- The Jacob and Sarah Taylor family settled near Somerset or Summerset, Iowa in 1875. Three children died in 1876 and Jacob died in 1884. They are all buried in Carlisle Cemetery. Some of the family (Leathy Ann Taylor Stringfield Gilman) continued to live there until 1914, at least. I can't find it on any map and I'm not even sure of the name. It was even called Summerville in one obituary. I would appreciate any help with the correct name and location. I would also appreciate any information about what would have caused three children to die in 1876.
