Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11371 Surname: Read ------------------------- I don't remember mentioning an Elizabeth Anne, but yes, Ann was a sister to John B. and also to my ancestor Matilda. Matilda and Ann actually married brothers, Alexander and Josiah Davisson. It's is John, Matilda, and Ann's grandfather, John Read, that I'm trying to find. He lived and died somewhere in Virginia. I was just hoping that somewhere in Warren Co. information about Ann and John B. that their grandfather might have been mentioned.

My WEEKS came to WARREN CO, IA from FLOYD CO, VA. I've checked the 1850-1880 census lists and don't find those names there either. A.M. stands for Admiral Maury, although he was never called Admiral and was never at sea. Go figure!

Posted on: Warren County, Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/Warren/11351 Surname: COLES, BARTLETT ------------------------- I found out that in the early days, there was a Cashius Coles ("Cash") who lived in White Breast Twsp., and may be related to a George Coles and may have lived in the Bartlett household. However, they were gone before 1872. I would think it would be quite probable then that the Cash Coles Building in Lacona was named after Cash Coles of Lacona. I am not sure how this might tie into the Coles family of Liberty Twsp. Does anyone know if they are related to the Solomon Coles descendants of Liberty Twsp? From examining township maps, I see that there is nothing definite to indicate any Coles families in White Breast Twsp., however, there are many many Coles families who owned land in Liberty Twsp.
