I have a distant connection to them. I also have the 1987 Warren County History Book and it has a couple of biographies that were done by descendents. Also, the Mosher Family operates a local funeral home in that area and there are at least two of the family's farms that have received the Century Farm Award. Please contact me at loriw@cwo.com with your email and snail mail address and I will get the information off to you. Lori

This doesn't quite jibe with the info in the Obit - unless the reason the child died was that the mother was herself dying....fascinating. Don't have George Ashworth's cem.

    3. Correction, Ally is Alva M. Frazier. Alva's sister, Isabell (the author), married Jacob Haworth and named one of her sons, Alva Elmer Haworth, after her brother. So I confused myself. 3. An excerpt from my great great grandmother's memoirs: "For Christmas that year, mother got Ally an Indian tomahawk. One day, some time after Christmas, he was out in the wood-pile trying to chop some wood with his little hatchet. Our woodpile was not far from the road on Grandpa's farm. While he was chopping away, an old man came driving along. His name was Anderson Moore and we knew him well. Ally looked up from his chopping and saw him coming. He said, "Hello man, where's my Christmas gift." Of course mother and I didn't know anything about it, but one day, at Fourth meeting, this old man came up to us after the close. He handed mother a dime and said, "Here, I want thee to give this to thy little boy." He told mother about his passing our house the other day and how Brother called out about a Christmas gift. Mother was so embarrassed because Ally was such a little mischief. Everybody paid attention to him." This took place during the civil war and Ally (Alva M. Haworth) was born September 10, 1861 to give you an idea of the time. My family were Quakers living in Carlisle who attended to Middle River Church. I'm glad to "meet" you. It looks as if Barbara will be a great resource for you, as she has for me, in providing information regarding the descendants of Mahala Truitt Emanuel. You and Barbara are closer "cousins" than you and I, and I know that Barbara has more information regarding the family of Alice Emanuel Clements than I do. So, I'm glad to see the two of you have made connections! I descend from Mahala Trtuitt Emanuel's brother, James A. Truitt. Mahala and James were two of a family of at least eight children who were born to James Truitt and his spouse Belinda Bowen Truitt. I can provide information on Mahala's brothers and sisters, if you are interested. Mahala's oldest sister was Elizabeth Ann Truitt who married Henry Mortimer Kellogg. One of Elizabeth's descendants is Jhan Jensen. Jhan and his wife Sarah have a Web Site in which they have posted some information from the family tree, as well as some old family photos. Barbara Eggum loaned some of her precious old family photos to Sarah Jensen, and Sarah has posted them at her Web Site. Go to: http://www.haji.com/sarah/ancestry.htm And then click where it says "Emanuel Family Album." You'll want to look at all of the photos, I'm sure. There are two photos of Alice Emanuel Clements included at the Web Site, one of her as a child in the photo entitled "Emanuel Family" and one as a young woman with her sister Kitty. Until later, Lottie in Mesa, AZ

He died April 13, 1894 of self-inflicted gun shot wounds. The obituary for Mrs. Maggie Mason shows that there must have been a love triangle involving Mrs. Mason and Mr. Ashworth. He shot her and she died 3 weeks later. He shot himself before he was captured. Am interested in finding where he was buried. Please contact: conniegraz1@yahoo.com
