    2. Thomas Long was born in Fairfield, Ohio on May 22, 1838. His parents were John Long and Mary LeFevre. Thomas was a veteran of the civil war. He died in June, 1917 in North Dakota. I do not know anything about Thomas's siblings and very little about his parents. After leaving Ohio they moved to Delavan, Illinois, but I don't know what happened to them after that. John was born in Fairfield in about 1812 and Mary in Fairfield about 1816. Thomas and Louisa had 6 children: Thomas (who died as an infant), Viola, Franklin, Clara, Lura and Emma. I hope this helps. If you think the Longs are connected, please contact me at tuller99@pacbell.net. Roberta

    2. Can you tell me who Hannah Cole's parents were? I'm currently attempting to document all of the Warren Co. Coles and have accummulated considerable information on the Coles descendants stemming from Solomon Coles and wife Elizabeth, and branching out with some of the Coles children going to Warren Co. Iowa. However, much work remains to be done, and I'm heading to Warren Co. Iowa this fall to do research and figure out all of the Coles descendancy there. Any bit of information that you can provide will help. Thanks.

    2. Do you know who Thomas Long's ancestors were? The reason I ask is that I also have Longs in the region and need to understand the other lines to keep them straight. Also, I'm curious as to whether there is a connection.

According to a family biography submitted to the History of Warren County 1987, their Mary Iota went by the name of Ida. In the section about her it did not list her first husband, but said only the following. Mary Iota "Ida" was born 8/7/1879 near Conger. She married second, Henry William Huss and their children are: Everett, Lillian, Carl, Otto, Leslie, and Dorothy.

The Burgess School was in section 28 if that helps any.
