However, I am looking for Carr/Karr relatives in the area of Wapello, Marion, and Warren Counties, IA. Can you tell me more about where Elmer's ancestors came from? Thanks Gayle in Kansas
As near as I can tell Nellie and Elmer had 3 children: Maurice E. Carr, born abt 1904/1905 in Pope County, Illinois; Stanley Thomas Carr, born abt 1910 in Wapello County, Iowa; and Melvin Floyd Carr, born 24 Feb 1912, died 13 Feb 1931 in Wapello County. As I indicated previously, Melvin is buried with his parents in Ottumwa Cemetery. Apparently, by the time of Elmer's death in 1964, both Melvin and Maurice were deceased. Neither is listed in Elmer's obituary. The last know location of Stanley was Newton, Iowa and the last known location of Maurice was Seattle, Washington. It was a good try, Steven, but my Karr family came from Maryland to Ross and Highland Counties, Ohio and were in Iowa Wapello, Marion, and Ross Counties before 1850. Good luck on your search! Gayle in Kansas
