Lync DATE: 9/11/2003 at 13:44:22 Surnames: EASTMAN,CHEEVER,BELKNAP Hi, I am looking for information regarding Amazilla Eastman as listed on the Wapello County 1850 federal Census. She can be found on page 479B of the District 13 Census. I am told that her husband was Joel Belknap and that her first several children were born in Licking County Ohio. They moved to Wapello County Iowa in and around 1841. According to one secondary source, Joel Died in 1848 and Amazilla Remarried a Mr. Pelig Cheever of Dubuque IA (1855). It is assumed that the family moved to Dubuque at that time. I am looking for any land, death, or church records that would identify Joel Eastman as either a resident or decedent of Wapello County. Any record enumerating Joel with Amazilla would be appreciated. Thanks for your help!
