According to the WPA records there is a James H. Campbell buried in Agency Cemetery, Agency Township, Wapello County, Iowa. There are no dates on tombstone. It only says "Co H 30th Ia Inf Civil War". Also buried in Agency Cemetery is Elizabeth L. Campbell born 1849 died 16 Dec 1878. Which might explain why son was living with grandparents and Elizabeth does not show up in 1880 census There is a James Campbell, aged 55, in Agency Township in the 1880 census, but the entry makes no sense to me. He is listed as head with Ann Campbell, aged 51; James S. Campbell, aged 18;, William Watsa Campbell, aged 16; and Edward Campbell aged 12. What makes it so confusing is that the relationship of James to Ann and the others is listed as Other. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice.
