    3. Jeanne, I would like to connect the Wapello County Surbaugh's into their correct famly groups. Here is some of what I have accumulated thus far: 1. George Washington (GW) Surbaugh born ca 1827 Virginia married Irene Nosler in Wapello County in 1853. They had at least: Florence J. Frank N. Thomas N. John Schober Jennie M. Mary E. Irene was a widow in the 1885 census. 2. Adam H. Surbaugh born ca 1829 Virginia, married Sarah Pickett in 1866 Warren County, Iowa and Adam died there in 1923. A. H. Surbaugh was in the household of a Samuel Shawber[?} in the 1856 Wapello Co census. This Samuel was age 46 and given as born Ohio. I thought the Shawber name (difficult to read on census) seemed close enough to possibly be a spelling change for Surbaugh but I have not pursued Samuel. 3. Benjamin H. Surbaugh born ca 1831 Virginia married Deborah Kooken and they had at least: Harriet E. and George W. I have more on some the children named above. I speculate that GW, Benjamin, and Adam may have been brothers. Would like to confirm or correct that speculation. I I would like to learn the death date and place of George W. husband of Irene Nosler. Any of these people sound familiar to you? Thank you for replying to my query.
