Jacob Thompson and wife Rhoda were early residents of Wapello County then West to Linn County, Oregon. Jacob was born ca 1822 Kentucky married about 1845 in Indiana to Rhoda (b. ca 1823 IN) and they were in Wapello County by 1850 and headed West in 1852. They had at least two children: James H born ca 1845 IN and Henry E. born ca 1859 Oregon. What was Rhoda's maiden name? Was it EVANS? Who were her parents and siblings? Who were Jacob's parents? I speculate that Jacob was a brother to William T. Thompson also of Wapello Co. William was born ca 1813 Kentucky and married Polly Ann (b. ca 1821 IN) and were in Wapello Co by ca 1848. This William and Polly Thompson are not to be confused with another couple William and Polly Thompson also in Wapello County: This Wm was from Ireland and his wife Polly was born in Ohio. The Wm T. and Polly Ann Thompson of my search, had at least the following issue: Sarah J (1844 IN) John E (1845 IN) William F (1848 Iowa) Martha (1850 Iowa) Julia A (1853 Iowa) Amanda E (1855 Iowa) Arcena (1858 Iowa) Clara B.
