    1. Re: [IAWAPELL] Daugherty/Pepper
    2. Judy, your proof for the marriage of your search is as follows: William H. Daugherty and Martha Pepper were joined in marriage 19 Feb 1861 in Wapello County, Iowa solemnized by A.A. Douglas JP. The license to marry was issued on 19 Feb 1861. The cerificate of marraige was returned on 20 Sep 1861. This marriage was recorded in Book B, Marriage Register of Wapello County Iowa on page 269 and No. 23. This entry can be viewed on LDS FHC microfilm 979586. In the index (same microfilm) to early marriages, were the following: Book A Daugherty, Nathaniel and Mifs Sarah Cox page 19 Book B Peppers, William and Mifs Sarah J. Houk page 17 Peppers, Wills and Mifs Margaret R. Northcut page 242 In Book B Marriage Register page 17: William Peppers and Mifs Sarah J. Houk married 31 Oct 1852, by Edward Dudley the license was issued 30 Oct 1852. I do not know if the Nathaniel Daugherty and the two Peppers are related to your William and Martha but I included them just in case it proves of interest to your needs.
