I have been able to find some things which I hope will help you get started. The following comes from a combination of Wapello county marriage records, WPA death records and Federal Census records. Ralph T. Vandello was the son of Henry Vandello and Magdalena G. Zimmerman. Henry and Magdalena were married sometime around 1894 in Wapello county. Henry's father was Cornelius Vandello born March 1841 in Holland and died 10 Jul 1901 in Ottumwa, Wapello county, Iowa. Henry's mother was Anna Bridget ____ born Sep 1844 in Mass. and died on 29 Aug 1922 in Ottumwa. Henry Vandello and Magdalena Zimmerman had at least the following children: 1. Bertha M. Vandello, born Mar 1895 in Wapello county, Iowa. She married Edward Kosman on 26 Jan 1921 2. Cornelius J. Vandello, born Oct 1896 in Wapello county, Iowa. He married Gertrude Kosman on 6 Oct 1920 3. I've come across a set of photographs that seem to come from the Soule Family. One is a group photo of J.W. Soule and several men all on bicycles, the others are of Ralph Soule as a baby and young child. The pictures are dated from 1892. Most of the photos are portraits taken by "Geo. W. Thomas" One is a rather grim picture of J.W. Soule posing near a fence, with the inscription, "Stick where Ralph cut his neck as he fell while running" I'd greatly appreciate any further information I could obtain regarding the Soule family.
