I can find only two Walter McCoy names, a father and son, who have lived in Wapello county and, as near as I can tell their information does not match yours. But here goes. Walter McCoy was the son of Jeff C. McCoy a native of Iowa. In the 1910 Federal census Jeff was shown living with his two sons, Walter, aged 20 and Noah, aged 18. Both sons were born in Missouri. There is no wife/mother shown. Walter McCoy married Lottie Boxx on 14 Nov 1913 in Wapello county. I can't find an entry for Walter in the 1920 census. However, in the 1930 census Walter, aged 42, and Lottie, aged 34 are living in Eldon, Iowa with sons Walter, Jr., aged 15; Ralph, aged 12; Eugene, aged 4 11/12; and Claude, aged 6/12.
