The 1900 census shows the following in Cedar Township, Mahaska County, Iowa: Daniel C. Alexander, born Jan 1853 in Indiana Sarah J. Alexander, born Jul 1853 in Indiana George W. Alexander, born Jul 1879 in Iowa James E. Alexander born Aug 1892 in Kansas. There seems to be a discrepancy in the birth place of George, but everything else fits. The census also indicates that Sarah in the mother of 5 children, 4 are living. It appears that Elizabeth Pratt remarried to Albert P. Hoddy on 4 Sep 1873 in Mahaska County. The 1880 census shows Elizabeth and Albert living in Scandia, Republic County, Kansas. He is listed as Andrew P. Hoddy and is either works in or owns a restaurant. I can't find them in 1900 under Andrew or Albert. Fleming J. Pratt married Melinda T. Crouch on 8 Apr 1873 in Mahaska County, and Mary E. Mahaska County makes more sense than Wapello for this particular group of people as my mother's family were mostly from that County.
