The info I got was that Melville F. Clements was buried in Oakland Cemetery of Iowa upon searching, I didn't find him but, there was another CLEMENTS burial. This is a cemetery that is used by the University Hospital of persons who donated their bodies. I will get in touch with you later. Also, in Iowa City; they say he isn't in the WPA records.Maybe my source has the wrong county. Ancestry.com has a lot of mistakes like this. I remember when somebody got Clayton and Clay county all mixed up.That was a mess. I know that most of the Clements are buried in Agency City Cemetery of Agency, Iowa. *************************************************************************** This is an automatically-generated notice. 3. I can find a William D. Sinnamon born Iowa in abt 1863 in the 1880 census. However, his father is William H. Sinnamon, mother is Ellen Forsythe. Census lists a sister, Lillie M. born Iowa abt 1867. Wapello County WPA records indicate that William H. Sinnamon died on 31 Oct 1893 at age 49 and is buried in Ottumwa Cemetery. There are no listings for a James Sinnamon in any Wapello County records of the 1800s that I can find. 2. Sam Sloan
    3. I need to thank Dee Hall for obtaining the following Obituary from the Ottumwa Courier for June 1978. Deaths Edward Howard Sloan, 74, of 2657 Kenwood died at 4:30 p.m. June 7 at Ottumwa Hospital. He was born June 20, 1903 in Chicago. He came to Ottumwa and operated a distributing company from 1946 until he joined Credit Bureau of Ottumwa in 1953. He was manager of the credit bureau for 25 years. He enlarged it by adding a collection department and also became active in state credit association work. He attended Northwestern University and was a Marine Corps officer in World War II when he spent four years in the South Pacific and taking part in several major campaigns, including the assault on Iwo Jima. In Ottumwa he helped organize an active Marine reserve unit, heading it for several years and retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was also a member of the Ottumwa Airport Commission, Rotary Club, American Legion, Elks and First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder. His first wife, Miriam Whitehill, died in 1956. Survivors: His wife, Matilda, a son, Dixon of Tucson, Ariz., a daughter, Mrs. Gail Bates of Ottumwa, step-sons Stanley A. Haw of Billings, Mont., Edward H. Haw of Rochester, Minn. and a stepdaughter Mrs. Joanna Rogers of Rochester, Minn. Services: 11:00 AM Saturday at First United Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Louis Wollenberg of First United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial: Ottumwa Cemetery. Family visitation at Jay Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 PM Friday. Memorial: In his name to Ottumwa Hospital. NOTE: The date of birth above is an error. His actual birth date was June 20, 1904. It appears that his two children were both adopted, so they are not my biological cousins.
