George died in 1841, and among his listed children was Barbara, married to Joshua Amos. The Amos family was present in Bedford County for the 1840 census, and may have appeared in 1850 in Ohio County, VA (WVA). By 1860, Joshua was apparently dead. There is a Barbara Amos, though, present in the 1860 (erroneously named Elizabeth) and 1870 census listings for Van Buren County. Her tombstone in Farmington Cemetery lists her dates as 1810-1895. Also, Levi Amos/Amoss, a Civil War veteran buried there, is believed to be her son. Other probable children of Barbara and Joshua Amos were Elizabeth, John, Barney, Frank, Nathan, and Josephine. If anyone has done work on this family, seen an obit for Barbara and/or husband Joshua, or any of their children, estate or land records, I'd love to hear from them. It is quite possible that Barbara Amos of Van Buren County was also the Barbara Snyder/Snider born in Bedford County, PA. ***************************************************************************
