I'm wondering if anyone has access to biographies of Keosauqua (or VanBuren County) citizens that may contain information on nineteenth century residents. I'm hoping that a biographical sketch may be in existence for a Harvey Strong, b. 1792 CT, moved to LaPorte, IN in 1835, stayed for the next 29 years before moving to Keosauqua, Iowa where he died in 1895. He was an attorney and also farmed his land. He was married to Janet Gillespie, and had the following children: Ann Govan Strong, Harvey Strong, Colin Gillespie Strong, Henry Strong, Robert Moncrieff Strong, Elizabeth Gordon Strong, John Mitchell Strong, Washington Strong, and Franklin Strong. Have STRONG in my data base. While my line does not include your Harvey Strong, it certainly was in Connecticut, and goes back to Elder John Strong, born 1605 in Staunton, England.
