    2. Virginia L Aldridge
    3. Hello, My name is Virginia L. Aldridge. First, let me compliment your county on the wonderful USGENWEB site you have on the internet. I have found it most helpful in my research. I am researching the BEELER family, descendants of Isaac Beeler and Jane Hughes Beeler. Below is the data I have compiled on John Beeler son of Isaac and Jane Beeler. I am seeking any available data on this family. I was in Van Buren Co., IA in Sept. 2000, but only had a short hour to spend at the courthouse. I will be returning in June of this year to do more research. Does anyone have access to the 1850 census for Van Buren Co. who could tell me what data is listed for Hannah Bealen (Beeler) and her children? Also would like to know if Hannah Emerick is listed on the 1880 Van Buren Co., IA Federal Census? Her son's bio said she died aged 63, if she was born 1818 as stated in the bio, she should be listed in the 1880 census. If you can be of help please contact me at vlaldridge@juno.com Regards, Virginia L. Aldridge Evansville IN JOHN BEELER: (2) son of Isaac Beeler and Jane Hughes Born: circa 1811 Sullivan Co., TN (his son's (Joseph) bio says he was born in IN) Died: c. 1848 Lee Co., IA or before 1850 as Hannah is listed on the 1850 census index. Samuel Beeler b. 1847 Lee Co., IA d. 1878 There is a marriage record in Fountain Co., IN for: BEEDLE, John to VEIL, Hannah 12 February 1838 Fountain County borders Montgomery County on the west. Source: Indiana Marriages to 1850. I suspect the 5 in 1835 misread as an 8??? The depositions, in the lawsuit over Isaac Beeler’s estate, listed his death as about 1840. And stated he had no living heirs. Robert Mc Keehan’s info listed above(unsourced). If he died in 1840, then how could be the father of the last 3 children listed above.????? He was born in Lee County May 28, 1847, and is a son of John and Hannah Vale Beeler, both of whom were natives of Indiana. His father was born in 1817, and having attained to mature years, led to the marriage altar, in 1839, Miss Vale, who was born in 1818. They moved to Lee County, where Mr. Beeler died in the prime of his life, being but thirty four years of age, when called to his final rest. His wife long survived him, dying at the age of sixty-three years. They were parents of four children, of whom our subject was third in order of birth, and Jacob and Joseph are the only ones now living. The former is a resident of Washington Township.
