According to the A.I.S. index, there was no Beeler listed in the 1850 census. They do show a listing for Hannah Beeler in 1852, on page 59 living in Chequest township. Unfortunately, our library's microfilm collection does not include the 1852 Iowa Census. I have viewed the 1852 census at the State Historical Library in Iowa City. I'm not sure about the 1847 census but suspect it is at the State library as well. The index does show Hannah Bealen in 1850. When you come back to Van Buren Co. in June, be sure to allow time to spend not only at the courthouse but also at the Keosauqua Library where the extensive collection of the Van Buren Co. historical society is housed. You will find it worth your while, I'm sure. Rich Virginia L Aldridge wrote: > Hello, > My name is Virginia L. Aldridge.
