Hello, I am new to this list and hope that you can help me. My ABLE/ABELL's that lived in Penn. are my brick wall - or ONE of the brick walls, I should say! Henry ABLE, b. 1779 in Penn., m. Lucinda b. 1782 in Ireland. Maiden name unknown. One of their 3 sons was James, b. prob 1823 and d. 1850 in Penn. In his will he lists 100 acres of property which he owned in Van Buren County, Iowa and which he willed to his two brothers, Walter and Henry, and his mother, Lucinda was to have use of that property until her death. He also owned a smaller piece of property in Henry County one and one half miles east of Washington county. Do any of you have any knowledge of ABLE/ABELL's in that area in the 1850's?
