    3. Not much help, but this was on the web site for the villages of van buren. Cantril In 1870, a prominent lawyer, L. W. Cantril, laid out the town of Nickleville in the southwest part of the county. In 1871, he sold land through the town to the Iowa and Missouri State Line Railroad, thus assuring the town's life.
