I just traced them to Van Buren county, IA through familysearch.com. Hoping that I could find more information by searching the county directly I found this year old query. The only information that I can add is Mary Abels parents: William Abels and Anna Cohren, with William's place of birth as Holland. And of course I have the descendents of this branch of the family.
