Iowa in 1840, they had lived most of their married life in Claiborne Co. TN....leaving there abt. 1833-34 and lived a few years in Weatern IL. They had 12 children. There were 4 shown in the 1840 census of VB census..one a female age 5-9 is belived to be a grand-daughter Winney Shoemaker born in TN. There were two other females listed and one male. I believe the male was John Davis, the girls may have been, Demarius and Catharine. They are not listed in the 1850 census Of Mahaska Co.where the parents moved. Is anyone working on a John,Catharine or Demarius DAVIS ?? Sylvia
