For those awaiting the release of the 1930 Federal Census, your wait is getting shorter as it will be released to the public on April 1, 2002. By federal law, the government must wait 72 years. I personally am keeping my fingers crossed that it will turn up some useful info that will help me find the roots of my granddad Lowe, the ornery cuss. I'll be particularly interested in what it says for his place of birth, his parent's place of birth, and his military service. It has been reported previously he was born in both NY and IN and that he was in the Spanish American War and the Boer War which were going on at the same time in different parts of the world. <g> If you are interested in what the 1930 census will furnish in the way of information, a copy of the enumerator's instructions can be found at: http://www.ipums.umn.edu/~pipums/voliii/inst1930.html «¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»§«¤»¥«¤»¥«¤» Rich Lowe IAVanBuren@web-iowa.com Van Buren Co.
