My gg-grandmother Nancy Crain Johnson's sister, Mary "Polly" Crain married first John Johnson, brother of Nancy's husband. John Johnson died and Polly then married David Sewell. The Johnsons and Crains came from Dauphin Co. PA, then through Warren Co. OH and then Fountain Co. IN before coming to Van Buren Co. They arrived in VBCo in 1837-38, the same year as your Sewell family, however, David Sewell died in Fountain Co. IN in Aug. 1838. I believe they married in OH as their son David was born in OH in 1823. David Sr.’s wife came to join her sister in VBCo shortly after his death apparently. Another sister who married a Ward also came to VBCo. I don't have any info on David's parents or siblings but would like to hear more if you feel there might be a connection.
