There is a web site devoted to census lookups, but 1900 Iowa is not one of those offered. http://www.rootsweb.com/~uslookup/ I've asked for census lookups around the country on a number of occasions myself, sometimes with great success. Let me assure you, the "thrill" is still there. However, I'm not aware of a surname index to the 1900 Van Buren Co census so a lookup for 1900 is not practical without more to go on in my opinion. Even if the township was known, a lookup could potentially take hours of research. In this case, a rental may be your best bet. 1900, 1910 and 1920 have all been soundexed. Connie Street ckcasey@louisacomm.net "A mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimension." > However, I'm not aware of a surname index to the 1900 Van Buren Co census
