Posted on: VanBuren Co. Ia Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ia/VanBuren/11271 Surname: EARHART, LOWE, CHRISTENSEN ------------------------- Does anyone know anything about the family of George EARHART (Abt. Jan 01, 1810 Bavarian Germany - Jul 10, 1871)? He immigrated to New York about 1831, soon moving to Pennsylvania where he worked as a butcher. Don't know when he married wife Lavina (b Abt. 1824 - d Oct 24, 1864 Iowa), but their first child was born about 1845 in PA. They moved to Van Buren Co., Iowa, about 1856, where George was a farmer. George and wife are buried in Valentine Cemetery, Keosauqua, Van Buren, IA. Their children included John (b 1845), Samuel (b abt 1847), Jacob (1849?), George (b. 1853), Charles (abt 1856), Stephen (abt 1859), and Clara (abt 1863). After Lavina's death, George married Geraldine Virginia (b abt 1846), and they had children named Mary Isabell (abt 1866), Franklin (abt 1869), and an unknown infant (abt Sep 1871). I don't know if this family is related to my husband's line or not, but I would love to find out more about them from any descendants. Please contact me if you know anything about them. Thanks, Claudia Wiggins Earhart email: svje@netpath.net

Cantril is indeed in Jackson Twp., Jeff. Section 36. You will find a map at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~iavanbur/jackson.htm Only the "C" in the Cantril name shows on the above map. Cantril is on the border of Jackson and Des Moines Twp. Also see: http://www.rootsweb.com/~iavanbur/dsm.htm Rich Jeff Nayadley wrote: > Thank you, Rich and Connie, for your replies.
