I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the KOEPPEN Family of Iowa. The first is of Emma KOEPPEN and was taken at a studio in Belle Plaine, IA. I'm guessing that it was taken in the early 1900's with Emma appearing to be in her teens at the time. In addition to her name, someone has written "later STEIN" and "Henry KOEPPEN'S oldest child" on the back of the photograph. The second photograph is of Emilie KOEPPEN aka Mrs. Hans KOEPPEN and Marie KOEPPEN and was taken at the Yantz Studio in Rockwell, IA. The photograph is dated 1903 with Emilie appearing to be in her 30's or 40's and Marie in her teens or 20's. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family: Emma M. KOEPPEN was b. 22 Aug 1886 in Benton Co. IA to Henry KOEPPEN (b. 1859 in Germany to parents Marx KOPPEN and Madaline GOLTCH) and Dora or Doris JEPP or JIPP or JIPPE (b. 1860 in Germany to parents Henry JIPP and Margaretta STORKK). Henry and Doris were married 21 Oct 1885 in Tama, IA. Emma married Henry STEIN (b. 1888 to parents Henry STEIN and Dora BURMASTER) on 25 Feb 1909 in Rockwell, IA. Emma KOEPPEN STEIN died at the age of 94 in Jul 1981 in Dysart, IA. Hans KOEPPEN was b. 1865 or 1866 in Germany, the son of James KOPPEN. Hans married Emily or Emilie HOCK (b. 1867 to parents Max HOCK and Lena NISSEN in Germany) on 9 Mar 1889 in Vinton, IA. Emilie died 4 Oct 1929 in Jolley, IA. Mary KOEPPEN or KOPPEN married Robert or Bert WOLCOTT on 16 Jan 1906 in Tama, IA. Census records provide the following information: 1900 census of Kane Township, IA: Henry A.
