Hi Maxine, You will find the "History of North Tama" on the History pages. From there it is the first article. The History of North Tama. Here is the direct link http://www.rootsweb.com/~iatama/danielconnell.html. If you click on this line it will take you there. I have scanned through the copies that I have. I'm not sure if Gladbrook was formed yet. I know it is in Spring Creek township. It doesn't show up anywhere! Maybe someone on the list can let us both know when the town was settled. What is the earliest date you have for your ancestors living in Gladbrook? Just a little FYI---- According to the Gladbrook Centennial Book (1880-1980) Thomas Fleming and Lucinda Barger were married in 1876. They began housekeeping in a log cabin on the land Mr. Fleming had purchased. in 1885 they purchased 160 acres southwest of Gladbrook in Vienna Township, where they resided until moving to Gladbrook in 1915. Prior to 1875, John J Fleming (brother of Thomas) came to Spring Creek Twp & settled. They are also listed in the 1880 US Census for Spring Creek, Tama, Iowa.
