He previously lived in Earling. He was a high school graduate. He worked at Farmland Foods - meat-packing plant. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Burger) Leinen, of Omaha; daughters, Sharon (Verlin) Kreus of Omaha, Mary Ann Anderson of Omaha, Nancy (Rob) Skinner of New Port Richey, Fla., Cindy Grau of Manning, Lisa (Robert Wieduwilt of Council Bluffs; sons, Gail (Connie) Leinen of Council Bluffs, Gary Leinen of Council Bluffs, Leo (Brenda) Leinen of Cochise, Ariz., Doug (Lora) Leinen of Omaha, Neb., Brian (Debra) Leinen of Council Bluffs; sisters, Lavina Blum of Earling, Celie Buckley of Earling, Irene Mahlberg of Earling, Sally (Ken) Dillemuth of Pahrump, NV, Rosemary (Ed) Rehberg of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Alfred (Joan) Leinen of Earling, Eddy (Carol) Leinen of Harlan; 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Earling, Iowa, with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling with the Rev. Michael Berner officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Earling.
