HARLAN -- Lavern P. Klein, 83, Harlan, died Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with burial in the Harlan Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, Sept. 6 from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. with family present after noon, from noon-9 p.m. Klein is survived by his daughters -- Connie (Dewayne) Tucker of Bellevue, Neb. and Nancy (John) Harvey of Omaha; son Gail (Judy) Klein of Omaha; special friend Elsie Myers of Harlan; daughter-in-law Ellen Klein of Colorado Springs, Co.; brother Leo (Lucine) Klein of Harlan; and sister Elva Graeve of Earling and Maurine Lehan of Dunlap; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
