However, I continued searching and found an obit for Nellie Mae (Holmes) Vandeman, d/o Charles & Amanda Holmes and widow of Charles Vandeman. It gives lots of info including the name of her son, Murrell, which I couldn't decipher in the 1920 census. Obit is online, I can direct you to it if you have any trouble.
