Powers HARLAN - Graveside services for Robert Joseph Powers, 68, of Avinger, Texas, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Portsmouth with the Rev. Paul Bianchi officiating. Mr. Powers died Aug. 20 at Myrtue Memorial Hopsital in Harlan. He was born in Portsmouth. He graduated in 1952 from Logan High School. He was a contract painter and truck driver. Survivors include his companion, Connie Witt, of Portsmouth; one daughter, Kimberly Coleman, and husband, Ernie, of Avinger; five sons, Richard of Daggett, Calif., Robert of Carter Lake, Ronald Sr. and wife, Debbie, of Omaha, Harold and wife, Colleen, of Sidney, Neb., and Dean and wife, Eileen, of Templeton, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Linda Kay Brandt, and husband, Rick, of Omaha; two sisters, Deloris Denton and husband, Lynn, of Council Bluffs and Linda Price and husband, Ed, of Bullhead City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one step-grandchild. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan. Prayer service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Portsmouth. Visitation will precede the service at the church from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (submitted by Vicki King)
