Holtz, 65, Avoca, died Friday, Oct. 4 at the Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center in Avoca. Services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Knutson Funeral Chapel in Avoca with burial in the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca. Military graveside services will be performed by Avoca American Legion Post #227. Holtz is survived by his wife, Iva Marie Holtz; daughters Tara (Jamie) Knudsen of Harlan, Jerece Cheers and friend Adrian Griffith of Walnut and Candace Gardner and friend John Ritzler of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; aunt Esther (Bill) Groepper of Bozeman, Mt.; other relatives and friends.
