Vogt, age 87, of Neola, Iowa, passed away Dec. 29, 2005, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Charles was born in Council Bluffs on October 3, 1918, to Hans and Olga (Techau) Vogt. Charles grew up on a farm in Neola, was in the CCC's where he met his wife Frances Brewer. They were married September 3, 1942. After marriage Charles became a farmer until his retirement in 1983. Charles was an elder in the Neola Presbyterian Church, and was Mayor of Neola for ten years. He became a Mason 55 years ago and served as Wor- shipful Master many times. He joined the Order of East- ern Star in 1950 and was Worthy Patron six times in Neola and 1 year in Harmony Chapter in Council Bluffs. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald P. Vogt. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances (Brewer) Vogt, of Neola; daughter, Marcia Wohlers and husband, Dennis, of Papillion, Neb.; sons, Lynn Vogt and wife, Cecilie, of Ankeny, Iowa, and Melvin Vogt and wife, Mary, of Neola; grand- children, Matthew and Stephen Wohlers, Dr. Kymberly Vogt, and Kari Holm; great granddaughter, Sydney Wohlers; sister, Lorene Phillips of Omaha; aunt, Audrey Knight and husband, Kent, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Quick, Iowa, Amber Lodge Masonic Service, Sunday at 6:00 p.m. followed by visita- tion until 8:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Neola Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dean Sparr, Pastor, will officiate. Interment Neola Township Cemetery with a luncheon following at the Church. Memorials to Neola Presbyterian Church or Harmony Chapter #25 preferred.
