Gittins ©Daily Nonpareil 01/05/2006 Gary E. Gittins, age 58, of Neola, Iowa, passed away January 3, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Mr. Gittins was born and grew up in Council Bluffs and has lived in Neola for the past 33 years. He was a farmer and owner of Gittins Trucking. He was a member of Neola First Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by father, Lee Eugene Gittins and grandmother, Helen Gittins. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Lois (Carlson) Gittins of Neola; children, Gina Wiggins and husband, Richard, of Bellevue, Neb., and Adam Gittins and fiance, Melissa, of Neola; grandchildren, Gage and Elizabeth Wiggins; mother, Iva Gittins of Council Bluffs; brothers, Robert, LeRoy, David and Don; sister, Bernice; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Open visitation at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Wednesday until 3 p.m. Thursday when Mr. Gittins will be taken to Neola Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church. Funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Church with Rev. Dean Sparr officiating. Burial is in Neola Township Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Church. Memorials may be offered to Neola Presbyterian Church or to the family.
