    1. Re: Fyock family
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Fyock, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zk.2ADI/339.1 Message Board Post: My grandmother was Lila Rae Dooley. Her mother was Eldora Arabel Sarah Jane Fyock. I think Eldora was born in Boonesboro or Waynesboro PA; her father was a Dunkard preacher. The family went west (Des Moines?, Omaha?) in a covered wagon. Eldora was ill for 2 years after Lila's birth, and sent Lila to live in St. Francis Convent with her (Eldora's) sister Viola in Denver. Eldora clerked in a department store in Midwest (daughter Lila worked there with her). She owned a boarding house in Des Moines. After moving to Baltimore, she opened a confectionary store on North Avenue. I think Eldora's mother's maiden name was Miller, and both the Miller's and the Fyock's were of German ancestry. Some of my information about Eldora is sketchy and may not be accurate. My grandmother, Lila, married Ferdinand Charles Strible, and lived in Baltimore, MD most of her life. Does any of this sound familiar? Regards, Saundra Strible Curry
