Rita was born in Panama, Iowa and graduated from high school in 1938. She was a homemaker, a member of the Rosary Society, Portsmouth coordinator for German Colony Tours, a 4-H leader and judge, a Shelby County Historical Society member, and she was also a part of the Quilting Club. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Ohlinger in 2002. Survivors include daughters, Marilyn and husband Bob Zotti of Bellevue, NE, Carolyn and husband Larry Hein of Alvord, Iowa, Jane and husband Gary Book of Manson, Iowa, Emily and husband Bruce Alexander of Omaha, NE, Rose and husband Tom Bruck of Avoca, Iowa, Alice and husband Lonny Janeek of La Vista, NE; sons, John R. Ohlinger of Ottumwa, Iowa, Richard and wife Mary Ohlinger of Portsmouth, Iowa, David and wife Beverly Ohlinger of Portsmouth, Iowa; brothers, Tony and wife Mildred Reinig of Harlan, Iowa, Joe and wife Arlene Reinig of Portsmouth, Iowa, Alvin and wife Mildred Reinig of Harlan, Iowa, Alfred and wife Betty Reinig of Kansas City, KS, Donald and wife Joyce Reinig of Hood River, OR; sisters, Theresa and husband Robert Krupicka of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mary Slaven of Portsmouth, Iowa, Cecilia Tunnell of Orville, CA, Catherine Schomers of Harlan, Iowa; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 5, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Our Lady Of Fatima of Portsmouth, Iowa, Rev. John Dorton officiate. Visitation with the family December 4 from Noon-5:00 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home, and from 6-9:00 p.m. at St. Mary Our Lady of Fatima in Portsmouth. A Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Portsmouth.
