He was found dead in bed by his son John and it is thought that death was caused by a stroke. Mr John Fuhs, Sr., was born in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1856, and died Thursday, June 10, 1926, aged 69 years, 10 months and 4 days. He was united in marriage in 1882, and was the father of seven children, Margaret, Jake, Jennie, Anna, John, Matt, and Mary. His wife passed away August 16, 1907. In addition to these he leaves to mourn his passing four brothers, Herbert, Mike, Mat, and Nick. Funeral services were held at Portsmouth Saturday morning. There was a large attendance of sorrowing friends and relatives present. Among the floral offerings was a beautiful bouquet given by the Portsmouth American Legion.
