AVOCA -- Gladys M. Sams, 89, Avoca, died Monday, Aug. 22 at the Avoca Nursing and Rehab Center. Services were held Thursday, Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Avoca with burial in the Shelby Cemetery. Sams is survived by sons Gary Sams of Clive and Allan (Nan) Sams of Avoca; daughter Donna (Gail) Larsen of Emerson; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pauley Jones Funeral Home, Avoca Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.
