Thielen-Barna, age 55, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully March 30, 2006, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital with her loving husband and children at her side. Phyllis was born in Crawford, Neb., to Warren and Mary Jane (Baltz) Seegrist on August 28, 1950. Phyllis graduated from Crawford High School in 1968 and moved to Council Bluffs in 1970. She worked as a librarian at Glendale Elementary School and later retired in 2003 as a seamstress at Charles Schneider Furniture Co. Phyllis was a member of the Catholic faith and the Bunko Sisterhood for 27 years. She loved horses and animals. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Warren Seegrist. She is survived by her husband, Mark Barna, of Council Bluffs; and 3 exceptional sons, Jeff Thielen and wife Kellie, of Council Bluffs, Chad Thielen and girlfriend Cynthia, of Chicago, Ill., and Jeremy Thielen and fiance Heidi Struck, of Blaine, Minn. She was a proud mother who took great pride in their activities and accomplishments. Other survivors include, mother, Mary Jane Sexton of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren, Austin, Aiden, Alek, Joshua, Reigan, Tracy, Bradley, Andrew, Cody, Courtney, Sabrina, and Diego; brothers, Loren Seegrist and wife Pat, of Hot Springs, SD and Duane "Zeke" Seegrist, of Crawford, Neb.; stepdaughters, Heather Stanbrook and husband Shad and Melissa Dominguez and husband Gilbert, all of Tuscon, Ariz.; and stepson, Chris Barna and wife Tammy, of Omaha. Visitation with the Family will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the mortuary with Rev. Dan Kirby officiating. Interment Garner Township Cemetery with a luncheon following at Firefighter's Union Hall, 1827 South Seventh St. The family will direct memorials.
