Wilbert was born in Hancock, Iowa and attended country school in James Township in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. He was a farmer, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Avoca. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Eleanor (Wise) Brown of Avoca; sons, Gary A. and wife Nancy Brown of Hastings, NE, James B. and wife Connie Brown of Walnut, Iowa, Randy L. and wife Linda Brown of Omaha, NE, Gregory C. Brown of Dunlap, Iowa; daughter, Rosann and husband Jim Nauman of Avoca; sisters, Ruth Christensen of Avoca, Dorothy Hildebrand of Hancock; brother, Lawrence Brown of Buford, GA; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 18, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Avoca, with Father John Frost officiating. Visitation with the family will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Avoca.
