She was a 1954 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, and a 1957 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bernard Hansen, of Portsmouth; mother, Ethel Caroline Allerton, of Council Bluffs; daughters, Susan (Andrew) Austin, of Omaha, Neb., Sharon (Kalvin) Petersen and Sandra (Mike) Davis, both of Alta, Iowa; sons, Dean (Lori) Hansen, of Avoca and David (Annette) Hansen, of Muskogee, Okla.; brothers, John (Cherry) Allerton, of Council Bluffs and Keith Allerton, of Omaha, Neb.; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery, Shelby, Iowa.
