Monahan, age 58, of Council Bluffs passed away April 13, 2006 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Ruby was born May 27, 1947 in Ponca, Neb., to the late Raymond J. and Edith M. (Stark) Van Cleave. Ruby graduated High School and married Vernon Monahan on May 23, 1970. Ruby was a supervisor at Azon Corporation for 17 years retiring in 2005. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Altar and Rosary Society, Wings of Hope, and treasurer for the Meadowlark Model A Car Club. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Vernon Monahan; daughter, Connie Marie Ruby and husband Christopher; son, Matthew A. Monahan; grandchildren, Jonathan and Ethan Ruby, all of Council Bluffs; sisters, Mary Ann Lussier and husband Randy, of Hubbard, Neb., Debra Mead and husband Bill, of Dow City, Iowa, and Diane Deck and husband Kenneth, of Newmanstown, Pa.; brothers, Kenneth Van Cleave, of Omaha, James Van Cleave and wife Sue, of Mapleton, Iowa, and Roger Van Cleave and wife Alice, of Emmetsburg, Iowa. Rosary Recitation will be Sunday at 7 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church, 33rd and 3rd Ave., Rev. Paul Monahan will officiate. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Portsmouth,Iowa, with a lunch following at the parish hall in Portsmouth.
