He died 14 Oct 1966 in Little Flower Haven, Earling, Shelby Co., IA and was buried 17 Oct 1966 in St. Mary's Cemetery, Portsmouth, Shelby Co., IA (gravesite: IV/1/44). notes: the Harlan, Iowa News-Advertiser October 17, 1966 --Area Deaths-- Jake Fuhs, Portsmouth, died at Little Flower Earling - Jake Fuhs, 79, Portsmouth, died Friday afternoon at Little Flower Haven retirement home here. Services were pending with Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan. His survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Tony Kaufman of Earling, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. -------------------------- the Harlan, Iowa Tribune October 20, 1966 Portsmouth Items Relatives and friends from here attended the wake of Jake Fuhs at the Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan Saturday and Sunday, also the funeral mass here at Our Lady of Fatima church Monday at 10 a.m. Mr. Fuhs died Friday at Little Flower Haven where he and his wife have been residents for several months, being former residents of here. xii.
