DENISON -- Funeral services for William R. "Bill" Gessmann, 73, and his wife Dorothy, 72, who died Saturday and Sunday, March 1 and 2, will be held Wednesday, March 5 at First United Methodist Church in Denison. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. Bill and Dorothy are survived by their four children -- Wm. Leroy (Ann) Gessmann of Grimes, Larry (Nancy) Gessmann of Harlan, Cindy Gessmann of Urbandale and Lisa (Randy) Clausen of Tampa, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. Dorothy is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Marge) Ahrenholtz of Harlan and Galen (Mary) Ahrenholtz of Clive; two sisters -- Delores (Jack) Perkins of Council Bluffs and Beverly (Jerald) Knudson of Charter Oak; two sisters-in-law, Judy Ahrenholtz of Harlan and Linda Ahrenholtz of Harlan; nieces and nephws. Bill is also survived by two sisters -- Thelma (Norman) Hanssen of Grand Island, Neb. and Evelyn (Phil) Wenzel of Mountain Home, Ark.; nieces and nephews. ©The Harlan Tribune 2003
