Ed Frank officiating. Christensen died March 20 at his home. He was born in Harlan and graduated from Harlan High School in 1952. He was a farmer for 31 years in Shelby County before retiring. After that, he was a salesman for Alloway/Westgo in Harlan, then John Deere in Avoca. He was a part-time employee for Pauley Funeral Home. He was a member of United Methodist Church and the Harlan High School Athletic Booster. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol Christensen of Harlan; two daughters, Ann (Dave) Pickrel of Hickman, Neb., and Jill Christensen of Queens, N.Y.; a son, Jay (Suzy) Christensen of Harlan; a brother, James (Carol) Christensen of Loveland, Colo.; two sisters, Barbara Hansen of Oakland, and Joanne (Norman) Mathiasen of Harlan; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family was March 22. The family will greet friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. ©Daily Nonpareil 2003
