EARLING -- Alvin K. Parkhurst, 82, Earling, died Sunday, March 23 at the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home. Services were held Wednesday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial in the Harlan Cemetery. Parkhurst is survived by his wife, Fern, of Earling; sons Charles of Harlan, Gary of Omaha and Don (Robin) of Alta; daughter Marietta (Rick) Gaul of Earling; sisters Lorraine Booth and Lois Phillips, both of Eagleville, Mo., and Ineva Bowen of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. ©The Harlan Tribune 2003
